Delivery

Concrete sleepers are heavy loads delivered by truck. Tell us about narrow access, steep driveways or overhead obstructions. Unloading equipment is not automatically included.

Lead time

Usually delivered in 2–21 business days. We confirm the date with you before you pay.

Freight is priced to your delivery suburb for most metro areas, or will be confirmed with you before payment.

Delivery and pick up options are shown on each product. Wait for our confirmation before arranging transport or attending for pick up.

Are patterned concrete sleepers as strong as plain ones?

Yes, when they are the same thickness and reinforced the same way. The pattern is on the face only. A structurally sound wall still depends on the posts, footings and design, and walls over 1m generally need an engineer.

Should patterned sleepers be sealed?

They do not have to be. A sealed finish deepens the colour and makes the face easy to clean, which is great on a sandstone look. Sealed or not, the wall should be kept clean of soil on the face while building.

Can I install them myself?

A low wall is a fair DIY retaining wall project for two people. Each sleeper is heavy: these are not lightweight blocks, and no one person should lift one alone. For a trade job or a taller wall, our team can help with quantities to get you started.

Can a fence go on a patterned sleeper wall?

Yes, with fence brackets on the steel posts, or with the fence posts set behind the wall, if the design allows for it. Making that call is a job for the wall designer.

Which side is patterned, and what is covered by soil?

The patterned face looks out and the plain back is covered by drainage gravel and soil. It is a perfect fit where the wall faces a garden or the street.
