Catalogue
H posts are the galvanised steel posts that sit between sleepers in a concrete sleeper retaining wall. Each post has a channel on both sides, so it joins the straight middle panels of the wall. Select the series to suit your sleeper thickness, choose from the lengths in the range, and add your quantity to the cart.

Choose the right product
The series must be compatible with your sleeper: the sleeper thickness has to suit the channel. The post length is your wall height plus the footing depth in your design. Verify both before you order, as retaining wall steel posts are supplied to size.
Retaining wall calculator| Your wall | What to choose | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Sleeper thickness | The post series that fits | The sleeper must slide into the channel |
| Wall height | Post length = height + footing depth | From your wall design |
| Ends and corners | C posts and corner posts | H posts are for the run between |
| Fence above the wall | Add fence brackets | Check the design allows for the fence load |
Post size, spacing and footing depth come from your wall design. In Queensland, walls over 1m high, or walls that support a load, generally need an engineer's design and council approval. Ask us for the supplier's engineering, which lists the Australian Standards it was designed to.
Order planning
Steel posts are long, heavy loads delivered by truck. Tell us about narrow access, steep driveways or overhead obstructions. Unloading equipment is not automatically included.
Stocked lines. Usually delivered in 1–5 business days. We confirm the date with you before you pay.
Freight is priced to your delivery suburb for most metro areas, or will be confirmed with you before payment.
Delivery and pick up options are shown on each product. Wait for our confirmation before arranging transport or attending for pick up.
An H post is a steel section shaped like the letter H, manufactured from structural steel and hot dipped galvanised. It sits between sleepers in a straight run, holding a sleeper on each side, while C posts finish the ends.
Standard posts are plain. Where a post is pre drilled for fence brackets, the product says so. If you need pre drilled holes, get in touch before you order and our team will check what options the supplier has.
They are made for concrete sleepers. Timber sleepers can be used in the same posts if the thickness fits the channel, but timber will rot long before the steel does. Check with your wall designer that the build is suitable.
Easy installation depends on setting out well. Dig the holes, install each post plumb in concrete, and let it cure. The posts are then ready for the sleepers. On a larger project, a contractor with an auger will save time.
Pricing on this website includes GST. Add the product to your cart and send it as a quote, and we review it and confirm the delivery date before you pay. Posts are delivered to site. Pickup is offered on some products. We can assist with quantities if you send the wall size.
Not yet. We deliver across South East Queensland, and we do not yet deliver to Victoria. Steel posts for Melbourne and Sydney are planned. For now, we can support orders in Queensland only.
