01 / Product overview

Choosing the type: one H post between every pair of sleepers, a C post at each end, and a corner post wherever the wall turns.

Choosing the length: post length = wall height + footing depth. Take the footing depth from your wall design or the supplier span table.

Spacing: set posts at 1.5m centres for Mini sleepers.

Also order: Mini concrete sleepers or EcoSleeper FRP sleepers, sleeper wedges (65mm and 100mm post pack) and concrete for the piers. Post caps are available for 100 Series posts only.

Check your wall design

In Queensland, walls over 1m high, or walls supporting a load such as a driveway or building, generally need an engineer's design and council approval. Confirm sleeper and post sizes against your design before ordering.

Compare post sections

  • The number is the section's depth in millimetres. A 150UC is about 150mm deep.
  • The weight (kg/m) shows how heavy the steel is. At the same depth, heavier means thicker steel and a stronger post.
  • UC (universal column) is an H shape. It goes mid-run as a joiner, holding a sleeper on each side.
  • PFC (parallel flange channel) is a C shape. It goes at the end of a run, where the sleepers stop.
  • UB (universal beam) is an I shape, deeper than it is wide, so it is very stiff for its weight. It is used in engineered walls.
  • Every post is hot-dip galvanised.

A general guide only. Post size, spacing and footing depth depend on wall height, soil and any load behind the wall. In Queensland, walls over 1m high, or walls supporting a driveway, building or fence, generally need an engineer's design and council approval. Order the section your design specifies.
