A 100UC steel H post with reinforcing bar welded to the base, so the post ties into its concrete pier for a stronger footing. Hot-dip galvanised for long life in the ground. It is sold by the wall height it is designed for, from 400mm to 2.0m, and supplied at the length that height needs. Takes 75mm and 80mm sleepers on both sides.

Choosing a size: pick the wall height you are building. There's no need to work out the post length yourself.
Why reo: the welded bar locks the post into the pier, which helps on softer ground and higher walls. It follows the STA Consulting column and welded bar design.
Also order: 100PFC C posts for the ends, post caps, sleeper wedges and concrete for the piers.

- The number is the section's depth in millimetres. A 150UC is about 150mm deep.
- The weight (kg/m) shows how heavy the steel is. At the same depth, heavier means thicker steel and a stronger post.
- UC (universal column) is an H shape. It goes mid-run as a joiner, holding a sleeper on each side.
- PFC (parallel flange channel) is a C shape. It goes at the end of a run, where the sleepers stop.

How do I choose the size of a 100UC reo post?
Pick the wall height you are building, from 400mm to 2.0m. The post is supplied at the length that height needs, including the embedded section. For walls over 1m, or where the wall is engineered, confirm with your engineer.
Does a 100UC reo post replace a deeper pier?
A reo post reduces the pier depth needed in many cases but does not remove the need for a properly sized pier. Follow the design tables for your soil type.
Do I need council approval for a reo post retaining wall?
In Queensland, retaining walls over 1m in retained height generally need building approval and an engineered design. Lower walls can still need approval when they are close to a boundary or a building, support a driveway or pool, or carry a fence. Check with your council before you order.
