Choose the right product
A straight wall needs two C posts, one at each end, with H posts between. Add one more wherever the wall steps down in height.
Retaining wall calculator| Position | Post | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Each end of the wall | C post | Sleepers on one side only |
| Between sleepers | H post | Sleepers on both sides |
| Change of direction | Corner post | Sleepers from two directions |
| Step in wall height | C post, or a longer H post | To the wall design |
Post size, length and footing depth come from your wall design. In Queensland, walls over 1m high generally need an engineer's design and council approval.

A C post is a steel channel used as the end post of a sleeper wall. The material is structural steel, hot dipped galvanised after it is made. It is suitable for the ends of residential and commercial walls.
Standard C posts are plain channel. Some steel posts are supplied with pre drilled holes so a fence bracket can be attached. Check the product details, or ask us before you order.
No. The post is set in concrete to the depth in your wall design, and the sleepers slot in from the top. One open side is the only difference, which makes for easy installation at the end of a run.
Warranty is given by the manufacturer and varies by product. Contact us through the contact form with the post you are looking at and we will send the terms.
