Concrete Sleepers / JD-SL-038
A compact concrete sleeper with a rock-face Bedrock pattern in a charcoal tone, for garden beds, edging, raised planters and small retaining walls. At 1500mm long, 150mm high and 65mm thick, it is lighter and easier to handle than a full-size sleeper. It is made from 40MPa steel-reinforced concrete, with the ends rebated to 50mm so it slots between 65 Series steel posts, building the wall up 150mm at a time.
Under 100 sleepers: usually delivered in 1–21 business days. 100 or more: we confirm your delivery date when you order.
Freight is priced to your delivery suburb for most metro areas, or will be confirmed with you before payment.

01 / Product overview
Posts and spacing: Mini sleepers are 1.5m long and fit 65 Series galvanised posts set at 1.5m centres. Use H posts between bays, C posts at the ends and 45 or 90 degree corner posts where the wall turns.
Where they suit: garden beds, edging, raised planters and low landscape walls. For walls that retain a significant height of soil, use full-size 200mm sleepers and 100 Series posts, or follow your engineer's design.
Colour: concrete varies a little in colour and texture between batches, so order all the sleepers for one wall together.
Also order: 65 Series posts, sleeper wedges (65mm and 100mm post pack), and concrete for the post piers.
Supply: from our South East Queensland partner yards.
Made to order
Patterned sleepers are poured to order. Allow 2 to 21 business days and order the full wall in one batch for colour consistency.

04 / Product FAQs
Bedrock Charcoal mini concrete sleepers are compact, steel-reinforced concrete sleepers with a rock-face Bedrock pattern in a charcoal tone, for garden beds, edging, raised planters and small retaining walls. At 1500mm long, 150mm high and 65mm thick, they are lighter and easier to handle than a full-size sleeper. Made from 40MPa concrete.
Mini concrete sleepers are rebated at the ends to 50mm so they slot between 65 Series steel posts. Use H posts between bays, C posts at the ends, and 45 or 90 degree corner posts where the wall turns.
Each mini sleeper is 1.5m long and 150mm high. Divide the wall height by 150mm to get the number of courses, and the wall length by 1.5m to get the number of bays. Multiply the two for the sleeper count. You need one more post than bays.
In Queensland, retaining walls over 1m in retained height generally need building approval and an engineered design. Mini concrete sleepers are made for garden beds, edging, raised planters and small retaining walls, but lower walls can still need approval when they are close to a boundary or a building, support a driveway or pool, or carry a fence. Check with your council before you order.
